Hawaii raised the vehicle safety inspection fee to $25.75
CheckHawaii inspection stations should update posted prices and point-of-sale settings to the new fee and reconcile the higher contractor remittance.

Starting July 1, 2025, Hawaii's Periodic Motor Vehicle Inspection fee rose 75 cents to $25.75 for cars and trucks and to $17.75 for motorcycles and trailers, the first increase since 2017. The contractor share rose from $1.34 to $2.09, HDOT keeps $1.70, and the inspection station keeps the balance.
