Are your Connecticut repair authorizations, $50 estimates, and labor-rate posting current?

Connecticut DMV states that all repairs must have written or verbal customer authorization regardless of cost. For a repair over $50, an estimate of the maximum cost to the customer is required. If actual cost exceeds the estimate, the customer may authorize the increase verbally or in writing. Dealerships and repair shops must provide an invoice showing work performed and parts used, and must post their hourly labor rates at the place of business. Connecticut also requires motor-vehicle repair businesses to hold the applicable DMV license.

Quick check

Confirm every repair is authorized, repairs over $50 have a maximum-cost estimate, overages are re-approved, invoices list work and parts, and your hourly labor-rate sign is posted.
