OSHA extended the employer Hazard Communication substance deadline to November 20

OSHA's January 15, 2026 final rule extended the 2024 Hazard Communication Standard compliance dates by four months. For hazardous chemical substances, employers must as necessary update alternative workplace labels, their written Hazard Communication program and additional employee training for newly identified hazards no later than November 20, 2026. The corresponding employer deadline for mixtures is May 19, 2028.
