Nevada consolidated automotive-repair customer rights under DMV regulation

Nevada AB 482 (Chapter 450) took effect July 1, 2009 and moved garage and body-shop trade-practice regulation into NRS Chapter 487. The act established the modern Nevada Automotive Repair Customer Bill of Rights framework, including written estimates for covered repairs over $50, authorization before specified additional charges, replaced-parts rights and completed statements of charges.

What to check

Nevada garages and body shops should use the Chapter 487 customer-rights framework in estimate, authorization, replaced-parts and final-statement workflows and keep required DMV registration or licensing current.
