Are you preserving your Wyoming repair/storage lien before releasing the vehicle?

Wyoming's statutory lien provisions give qualifying service providers a lien when they make, alter, repair, work on, transport, store, or keep personal property. A lien claimant may retain possession until paid, but the right of possession terminates six months after the charges become due unless foreclosure proceedings have begun. If the shop wants to continue the lien after voluntarily releasing possession, it must file a lien statement before the release. A lien on titled property has additional title-notation requirements.

Quick check

If you plan to release the property unpaid, file the lien statement before voluntary release; if retaining possession, track the six-month limit unless foreclosure proceedings begin.

Review cadenceReview before releasing or foreclosing on an unpaid vehicle and whenever Wyoming Title 29 lien procedures change.
When this applies

Your Wyoming shop repairs, works on, transports, stores, or keeps personal property such as a vehicle and may rely on a lien for unpaid labor, services, or materials.

If relying on the lien, document the services and charges, calendar the six-month possession limit, and do not voluntarily release an unpaid vehicle before filing the required lien statement if you intend to preserve the lien after release.
