Are your Oklahoma total-loss storage rates and insurer invoice responses compliant?

Oklahoma's Motor Vehicle Consumer Protection Act sets maximum daily storage rates for auto body repair shops handling total-loss vehicles. For the first ten calendar days, the statutory maximum is $39 per day for ordinary vehicles and $125 for qualifying damaged lithium-ion-battery vehicles stored to OEM requirements. Beginning on day 11, specified higher rates may apply when the statute's conditions are met. Auto body shops must provide written invoices and respond to insurer requests concerning pickup, release, or delivery within eight business hours. The Oklahoma Insurance Department may adjust the maximum rates annually beginning in 2027.

Quick check

Confirm current statutory/OID storage rates are being used, document any higher-rate conditions after day 10, and respond to insurer pickup/release/delivery invoice requests within eight business hours.
