Are your Colorado repair authorizations and estimate overages within the state limits?

Colorado's Motor Vehicle Repair Act requires repair garages to obtain the consumer's written consent before repairs are performed and to provide a written or oral estimate of repair costs. Without additional consent, the shop may not collect labor or parts charges above the estimate plus 10% of the estimate or $25, whichever is less.

Quick check

Verify written consent exists before repairs, the customer received an estimate, and charges above the estimate did not exceed 10% or $25, whichever is less, without additional consent.
