Washington established auto-glass shop choice and insurer-owned facility disclosures

Substitute Senate Bill 5052, Chapter 74, Laws of 2007, took effect July 22, 2007 and created RCW 48.30.340. The law gives a person the right to choose any glass repair facility for a motor-vehicle-glass loss and requires additional verbal and posted disclosures when an insurer or third-party administrator owns an interest in the glass repair facility, including a pre-repair verbal notice for mobile facilities.
