EPA changed auto-body paint rule reporting and exemption steps (NESHAP 6H)

EPA's technology review of the area-source paint stripping and surface coating NESHAP (40 CFR part 63 subpart HHHHHH) took effect November 10, 2022, with a May 9, 2023 compliance date. It moved initial notifications, compliance-status notifications and annual change reports to EPA's CEDRI electronic system and let shops that spray no target-HAP coatings file a simple notification instead of a petition for exemption.
