Georgia expanded dealer data protections and remote-service compensation

Georgia SB 81 / Act 282 amended the Motor Vehicle Franchise Practices Act to add dealer-data and integration protections and to require franchisors, manufacturers, or distributors to compensate dealers for qualifying assistance with manufacturer-initiated remote vehicle changes, repairs, or updates. The act became effective July 1, 2025.
